A pictorial history of the best preserved Georgian town in Australia.
By the 1830s Oatlands was an expanding, vibrant community. Although changing times meant that Oatlands never became the large centre that was envisaged in colonial times, it retains more of its original buildings than any other Australian town.
Callington Mill, which dominates the Oatland skyline, was for many years a derelict stone tower. It has now been fully restored.
It provides high quality flour to local bakeries and is working almost exactly as it did in the nineteenth century.
