If you go camping a bit, chances are you either have, or have heard of, this book. Regarded as Australia’s camping bible, Camps Australia Wide guide is pretty much indispensable for the traveller. The new edition, Camps 9, has been 100% researched and updated and now contains over 4,000 campsites, with more 3,000 of those being pet friendly.
As always, the book comes in three versions – Camps 9 perfect bound, Camps 9 spiral bound and the big Camps 9 B4, hardcover spiral bound with camp snaps. The first two are the same inside, it’s just the binding that’s different. Because some people like spiral bound and some people like perfect bound, everybody can be happy! The big hardcover one has the same information, but also includes campsite photos for over 2,700 of the listings. Pretty handy to able see what the place looks like first.
Everything you need to know about each site can be easily found by looking at the descriptive icons and symbols. These show facilities such as toilets, maximum rigs, maximum stay allowed, dump points, pets allowed, fees applicable, mobile phone coverage and site access details.
The authors have notched up a huge number of kilometres zigzagging the country visiting, checking and verifying the information enclosed. Closed and unsuitable sites have been removed and heaps of new ones have been added.
All three versions are being released in late February and we should have our stock on the 1st of March. You can pre-order Camps 9 now and be the first to get your hands on this beauty.
