From the author of the highly acclaimed best seller Green Flash comes another gripping murder mystery.
Who will be the killer's next target?
Adventurous couple Jessie Powers and Neal Fox head south from California on their sailboat to realize their dream of cruising exotic Mexican ports. But after they identify three murderers fleeing U.S. authorities in a stolen powerboat, Jessie and Neal become targets of terror.
After surviving several malicious attacks, they fight back by enlisting the aid of friends in the sailing community and a retired Mexican diplomat to hunt down the killers in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
"We could bore ourselves to death, drink ourselves to death, or have a bit of an adventure..." It was absurd. It was foolhardy. And it was glorious. When they retired, Terry Darlington and his somewhat saner wife Monica - together with their dog, a whippet named Jim - chucked their earthbound life and set out in an utterly unseaworthy sixty-foot canal narrowboat across the notoriously treacherous English Channel and down to the South of France.
Aboard the Phyllis May, you'll dive through six-foot waves in the Channel and be swept down the terrible Rhone. You'll meet the French nobody meets - poets, captains, scholars, madmen; they all want to know the couple on the painted boat and their narrow dog. You'll visit the France nobody knows - the backwaters of Flanders, the canals beneath Paris, and the forbidden routes to the wine-dark Mediterranean Sea. Aliens, trolls, gongoozlers, killer fish, and the walking dead all stand between our two-person, one-whippet crew and their goal: the ancient, many-towered city of Carcassonne.
A tale of travel, travail, dubious wine, a balky pump, and a boat built for only a few feet of water, this exuberantly inventive and hugely entertaining odyssey of the spirit, senses, and heart will enchant lovers of France, England, and all that lies between.
The Remarkable Journal Of Shackleton's Polar-bound Cat
When Sir Ernest Shackleton's ship Endurance became trapped in the Antarctic ice, all twenty-nine members of the crew were pushed to their limits of survival, including Mrs. Chippy, the ship's estimable cat. Fortunately for posterity, Mrs. Chippy left a diary of the ordeal.
Closely based on the true events of Shackleton's heroic journey, and illustrated with authentic photographs taken by Frank Hurley, expedition photographer, Mrs. Chippy's Last Expedition is a firsthand account of one of the greatest adventures in history - from a unique point of view.

The worldwide renaissance of barbecuing is in full swing! For that reason and Peter Howard's absolute love of barbecuing, he decided to write his fourth book on this delicious way of eating with family and friends - a ritual that is known as being Australian but in reality is a worldwide fascination and is embraced everywhere.
Peter Howard's BBQ Collection is a combination of the best recipes from his first three books, Barbecued!, Licence to Grill and Barbecue Seafood plus new recipes. Pizza, souffles, roasting and wok frying on the side burner are a few of the additional recipes he has included.
The influence of the barbecue is being felt everywhere and funnily enough, the advent of the hooded barbeque has meant a renewed interest in roasting - to that extent Peter has included a useful roasting chart as roasting in a barbecue is quicker than a conventional oven. The first book, Barbecued! was written 10 years ago and went on to be a great seller in Australia, the USA and the UK. It was a written in a modern approach to the art of barbecue cooking. It was meant to guide us all from sacrificed sausages, cremated chicken and continued disappointment from the charred remains left lingering on the barbeque plate. It achieved its goals.
Barbecue Seafood was the publisher's inspiration when she said 'Everyone is afraid of cooking seafood on the Barbie - can you please do something about that?' and so he did. The book has been acclaimed by all who use it.
The collection will continue in the same way the previous books have - that is, to be regularly used. Peter has expanded on meatless meals and includes more salads that are not only accompaniments but also complete dishes. There is an increased demand for these types of dishes and they are delicious. The desserts are just as tantalising. In this book, Peter Howard shows there isn't too much one cannot do on a barbie...perhaps souffles was one of the last remaining kitchen-bound dishes - not anymore! He shows how easy it is to do both sweet and savory souffles.

The book is produced by us (so you know it's awesome) with the assistance of the Western Australia Department of Transport.
More than a decade has passed since the first edition of this book was published and the demand is still amazing. So, by popular request, here's the fourth edition. Obviously, mankind's century-long love affair with motorised transport remains alive and well. The continuing demand for this book is an excellent indicator of the current level of popularity of 4wds and 4wdriving with the people of Perth.
As usual, a number of alterations to the tripnotes have been necessary due to a variety of reasons including changes in land ownership, the creation of new national parks, mining and conservation requirements, re-alignment of logging tracks, new tracks obliterating the old and increasingly restrictive measures on 4wd access by government departments.
It's getting harder and harder to find touring routes through our forests that the authorities are happy for to be publicised. Once again, the challenge has been to unearth new locations and navigate a way through a maze of rules and regulations to retain as many trips as possible within easy reach of the metropolitan area. While most managers agree that 4wdriving is a legitimate leisure activity, especially when the often historic routes being followed are an important part of our heritage, the prevalence of dieback fungus in our state forests and on our sand plain reserves is an enormous problem that we all must recognise and help to fight by complying with the rules.
Westate believe that this edition will continue to provide pleasurable destinations and thoughtprovoking information that will assist in making your forays around our beautiful bush lands and beaches a highlight of your 4wdriving days. In return, they trust you'll care for the country you cross to keep it for your kids.
