This striking physical world map, produced by the US Defense Mapping Agency, is Pacific centred with Australia right in the middle (where it should be!). The map comes either in plain paper or with a heavy duty laminate for extra durability.

  • relief indicated by contours, shading, and hypsometric tints
  • heights in meters
  • depths in fathoms indicated by soundings and bathymetric curves and tints
  • shipping lanes shown with distances in nautical miles
  • country capitals symbolized
  • cities and towns classified by population
  • detailed symbolization of hydrographic features

The map also shows the International Date Line with clock times (military and conventional) at 15º intervals based on noon at Greenwich. English translations of local names are used and there is an index and a legend for populated places, ice limits, boundary symbolizations, and tint band guides.
