Kilimanjaro on a GPS compatible map at 1:62,500 from ITMB, showing main trekking and climbing routes, with on the reverse an indexed road map of Northern Tanzania with street plans of Arusha, Dar Es Salam and Zanzibar's Stone Town.

On one side is a map of Kilimanjaro at 1:62,500. Relief is vividly shown by elevation tinting, contours at 100 feet (approx 30m) intervals, plus spot heights given both in feet and metres. The map shows the boundary of the national park and highlights various routes to the summit, as well as huts, camping areas, locations with potable water, etc.

In the surrounding area the map shows all weather paved and dirt roads as well as local tracks, and indicates locations of various facilities. The index lists both villages and physical features. Margin ticks give latitude and longitude (at 10' intervals) plus UTM coordinates. The map is surrounded by notes about the area and various routes to the summit.

On the reverse is part of ITMB's road map of Tanzania at 1: 1,370,000, extending south to include Dar Es Salam and Zanzibar. The region's topography is vividly presented by bold if unconventional altitude colouring in bands of 1000 feet, with peak heights shown both in feet and in metres. Additional graphics indicate wetlands/swamps and coral reef in coastal areas. National parks and game reserves are highlighted.

Road network distinguishes between paved and unpaved roads and includes selected tracks. Railway lines and ferry routes in Lake Tanganyika are included, and local airports are marked. The map also shows the region's internal administrative boundaries with names of the provinces.

Symbols highlight various places of interest, some annotated with brief descriptions. Also indicated are locations with tourist accommodation, medical facilities, fuel supplies, etc.

Gloss Laminate

Gloss laminate makes colours look more vibrant and stand out more, but is quite shiny (reflective). If you’re planning on using a marker of any sort, this is a better choice because it’s easier to clean. Your print will be fully encapsulated (so laminated on both sides) in durable 80 micron laminate and will last you a lot longer than plain paper.

Matte Laminate

Matte laminate has a smooth, non-reflective, very classy looking surface. I wouldn’t say it dulls colours, but it doesn’t make them ‘pop’ (I hate that I just used that word) in the way that gloss does. Matte can be drawn on with pencil (and erased), but is harder to clean if you use markers. Your print will be fully encapsulated (so laminated on both sides) in durable 80 micron laminate and will last you a lot longer than plain paper.

Canvas

Everything looks better on canvas! Something about the texture really makes prints look wonderful. It is quite expensive though. We use a very high quality 340gsm artistic matte canvas. Your canvas print will come rolled with a roughly 50mm white border to allow you to have it stretched or mounted however you wish.
