Michelin’s Road Atlas of Great Britain & Ireland at 1:300,000 in an A4 spiral-bound format with Michelin’s own cartography for the main mapping and accompanying street plans. The atlas has the cartography used in Michelin’s regional road maps.
Motorways are still shown in red rather than in the by now standard blue and no speed camera locations are marked. In addition to the usual features shown on road mapping, Michelin offers driving distances on motorways in both miles and kilometres, more detailed gradient marking, height limit under bridges, and, very usefully, scenic routes. The mapping has no geographical coordinates.
The atlas includes 52 town centre street plans, each with a short index and presented with an enlargement of the area surrounding the city.
Other features include a route planning section, a map of the ferry services, plans of the Channel Tunnel terminals at Folkestone and Calais, and a small distance table in kilometres and miles.
