This detailed map is part of Hallwag's USA Road Guide series (it's map 5) and covers California and Nevada at 1:1 000 000. Road detail is good and hill shading is used very effectively to show the topography of the land. Various points of interest are marked including information centres, hospitals, airports, campsites, national parks, etc.

The sheet includes transit maps covering San Francisco, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino, San Jose and San Diego which highlight the motorways in and out of the cities. A booklet attached to the cover features detailed city maps of San Francisco, Sacramento and Las Vegas and 'The Strip' in Las Vegas as well as some excellent maps of the naitonal parks in the area, namely Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon, Redwood and Crater Lake.

Also included are a mileage chart with travelling times between major cities, and a booklet with an index of places, travel information from A to Z, top attractions and travel tips.
