Official RYA Course Companion

This is the syllabus and logbook published by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) for its National Sailing Scheme, the structured pathway used across UK dinghy and keelboat training centres. It sets out the skills and knowledge covered at each stage of the scheme, from first strokes afloat through to more advanced helming and crewing competencies.

Alongside the syllabus, the booklet doubles as a personal logbook, giving sailors a place to record completed courses, instructor sign offs and time spent on the water, so it can be carried from course to course as a continuous record of progress.

Useful for sailing students working through RYA-recognised courses, and for instructors and clubs teaching to the RYA syllabus.
