Presented at 1:1,600,000 and 1:2,500,000 on a double sided, indexed map, this ITMB title covers Algeria, the largest country on the Mediterranean and the second largest on the African continent. The country divides north to south across the two sides, with a generous overlap between them, and includes a street plan of central Algiers marking places of interest and selected accommodation options.

Algeria's varied topography is captured through altitude colouring, with graphics distinguishing deserts, swamps, salt flats, water wells, oases and seasonal rivers, alongside numerous spot heights, particularly across the more mountainous south, where individual ranges and other geographical features are named. The road network includes desert tracks as well as sealed routes, distances are marked along main roads, and border crossings are indicated, along with railway lines and local airports.

Reflecting Algeria's gradual opening to tourism, the map marks towns offering accommodation, campsites, rock art sites and other historic and natural points of interest, including well preserved remains from the country's Roman and Numidian past. Recent updates bring the map's motorway network and certain place names, such as Alger for Algiers, in line with current usage. A thorough, up to date reference for a country still relatively off the beaten path for most travellers.
