A colourful geographical map covering the remote Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the north west of China at a scale of 1:2 000 000, with elevation tinting and spot heights to show topography. Road detail is good including many minor tracks, intermediate road distances are also shown in kilometres on the bigger roads.

Various places of interest are marked out including airports, tourist sites, buddhist temples, palaces, ruins, museums, historical monuments and national parks. Helpfully, names of larger towns are written in both chinese and roman script.

The map also includes a street plan of central Urumchi at 1:75 000 with street names, hotels and other important or useful buildings shown.

An extensive index is included on the reverse side of the sheet. The legend is in 5 languages including English.
