Italy South & Central Road Map by ITMB

This double sided road map continues ITMB's original artwork series on Italy, extending the detail found on their Italy North title down into the southern half of the country. Side one covers from Umbria Province, just north of Rome, down through to below Naples, and east across to the Adriatic coast between Ancona and Brindisi, with an inset map of Sardinia included for good measure.

The reverse side takes in the toe of the Italian boot, along with the island of Sicily and a scattering of smaller Mediterranean islands. Italy's dense population and intricate road and rail network make sectional mapping like this necessary to show the level of detail travellers actually need on the ground, with motorways shown in blue and main roads in green, alongside World Heritage sites, castles and major churches marked throughout.

A practical companion for slower, more exploratory travel through southern and central Italy, a part of the world where wandering tends to reward the visitor more than rushing from sight to sight.
