The world's largest landlocked country and the ninth largest nation overall, Kazakhstan presents a particular mapping challenge shared by several of the former Soviet "Stans": in the aftermath of independence, many place names that had been Russified under Soviet rule were changed, and not always back to their original spellings. This 2026 edition reflects years of refinement in sorting out that nomenclature, aiming for an accurate, up to date rendering of the country's settlements and geography.

Printed double sided at 1:2,300,000, the map covers the country's road network by classification, distinguishing motorways from main roads, alongside rivers, lakes and national parks. Tourist sites are marked throughout, along with more everyday features such as zoos and fishing areas, giving the map practical use beyond simple route planning.
