Guidance for Planning an Oil Spill Response

Manual on Oil Pollution, Section II, is published by the International Maritime Organization and focuses on contingency planning for responding to marine oil spills. This 2018 edition sets out a framework for developing national and regional response plans, covering risk assessment, organisation of resources and coordination between agencies.

It is written for government agencies, port authorities and industry personnel involved in preparing or reviewing oil spill contingency arrangements, forming part of the wider IMO series of manuals on oil pollution response.
