A Story of Hope for Young Readers

Salih follows a young boy displaced by war who carries the memory of his home with him as he crosses dangerous terrain and open seas in search of safety.

In a refugee camp, Salih finds comfort in painting his memories and sealing them in bottles, and although the sea takes these treasures during his onward journey, his hope for a new life never fades.

Written by Inda Ahmad Zahri and illustrated by Anne Ryan, this gentle, age appropriate picture book for children aged six and up introduces themes of displacement, resilience and compassion, and was recognised as a CBCA Notable Book.
