Rounding out ITMB's Thailand coverage after having mapped the south of the country for some years, this title finally brings the Chiang Mai region into the fold. The map runs from Bangkok northward, with side one featuring a strong inset of central Bangkok alongside the town of Kanchanaburi, easily reached from the capital and famous as the site of the Bridge on the River Kwai, part of the Japanese built Burma Railway. While the current bridge isn't the original structure, the nearby Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery remains well worth a visit for those in the area.

Side two shifts focus to Thailand's wilder far north, taking in all known points of interest along with a detailed inset of Chiang Mai itself, the region's cultural and logistical focal point. The rail line terminates here, but for anyone not already overwhelmed by the city's many temples and pagodas, plenty of tours run out to further temple sites nearby. A separate inset of Pattaya is also included, alongside relief mapping, national parks and a full town index.

Printed on waterproof material, the map opens out to roughly 100 x 70cm and folds down to a compact 25 x 10.5cm. A solid, purpose built companion for travellers heading north from Bangkok into Thailand's Chiang Mai region and beyond.
